Hartford Jazz Society
HJS Fundraiser at Black Eyed Sally’s 2/26!
The Hartford Jazz Society, in conjunction with Black Eyed Sally’s and the Greater Hartford Arts Council is proud to present Danton Boller Quintet in a Tribute to Roy Hargrove. This is a fundraiser for the Jazz Society and all proceeds will go toward funding our programming, scholarships and educational events.
During his time with Roy Hargrove, Danton Boller was featured on two of Hargrove’s most popular albums – Earfood (RH Quintet) and Emergence (RH Big Band). Hargrove’s “Strasbourg St. Denis” opens with Danton’s captivating bass intro, and has gone on to become one of the best known new jazz standards around the world, with over 13 million streams on Spotify alone. Danton is also highlighted on the DVD The Roy Hargrove Quintet – Live at the New Morning, which has inspired generations.
Tickets will also be available at the door (cash, Venmo, PayPal, NO credit cards). The Hartford Jazz Society thanks you for your support!
The 58th Paul Brown Monday Night Jazz Series in Bushnell Park will take place on six consecutive Monday evenings, beginning July 7th and concluding August 11th. Click to see the schedule and artist info.
